How do I replace the fabric on a folding-arm awning?

There is no one-size-fits-all method for replacing the fabric on your outdoor folding arm awning — it all depends on the model of your awning (full-cassette, half-cassette or no-cassette).

However, the basic steps are essentially the same:

1. Extend your awning completely to reveal the roller tube.

2. Using a screwdriver, pull out the caps on the front beam.

3. Remove the old fabric from the front beam at the bottom, then pull out the fabric from the roller tube at the top.

4. Properly wash the awning frame to avoid soiling the new fabric.

5. Attach the new fabric onto the roller tube.

6. Slide the fabric into the lowered front beam, then reposition the front beam onto the arms.

7. Finish by winding up the roller tube to extend the fabric.
